Andrea D’Amato

Italian pianist with a solid academic background and an international profile, Andrea
D’Amato stands out for the versatility of his repertoire and the intensity of his artistic vision.
Andrea is a prizewinner of numerous national and international piano competitions, including
the “Enrico Zangarelli,” “Creo Ergo Sum,” “Musica Giovani,” “DocMusiContest,” “Padre
Damiano da Bozzano,” and the “Concorso Pianistico Città di Spoleto.” He further refined his
artistry through masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Boris Berman, Georg
Friedrich Schenck, Frank Peters, Boguslaw Jan Strobel, Giulio De Luca, Mario Montore, and
Giampaolo Nuti.
In May 2024, Andrea released En Variant, a duo album with Carlotta Malquori on the ARS
Produktion label. The recording explores a refined repertoire of Franco-Belgian and
contemporary works for violin and piano, including compositions by Guillaume Lekeu, Olivier
Messiaen, and Nicolas Bacri.
He is a founding member of Ares Trio, alongside violinist Carlotta Malquori and cellist
Matthias Balzat. With this ensemble, he recorded an album for the German label Coviello
Classics in 2022, featuring works by Arno Babadjanian and Dmitrij Shostakovich. The trio
performs regularly at major festivals, including the Classiche Forme 2022 festival curated by
Beatrice Rana.
Currently, Andrea is pursuing a Master’s degree in Music Education at the Robert Schumann
Hochschule Düsseldorf while simultaneously attending the Advanced Chamber Music
Course at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome.
Andrea is a graduate of the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf and the Conservatory
“Santa Cecilia” in Rome, where he earned degrees in Artistic Piano Performance and
Chamber Music. His principal teachers include Giovanni Auletta, Monica De Matteis, and
Lisa Eisner Smirnova.
Alongside his performance career, Andrea is passionate about teaching and serves as a
piano instructor at the Städtische Musikschule Meerbusch in Germany.
