Federico Manca

He began studying piano privately at the age of 9; from the very first years of study, he showed remarkable talent, which allowed him to participate in various competitions, winning first prize overall in all of them, often accompanied by special mentions.

In the following years, he began taking private lessons with Maestro Fabio Moi, and in 2014 he was admitted to the “G. P. da Palestrina” Conservatory of Music in Cagliari, in the piano class of Professor Marcella Murgia, where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in February 2019 with top marks and honors (110 cum laude). He then enrolled at the “Niccolò Paganini” Conservatory in Genoa, where he completed the two-year postgraduate program under the guidance of Maestro Enrico Stellini, graduating with top marks, honors, and a special distinction.

After his academic studies, he attended the advanced training course held by Maestro Andrea Lucchesini at the Fiesole School of Music. He is currently continuing his musical education at the National Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome under the guidance of Maestro Benedetto Lupo.

During his years of study, he has taken part in several masterclasses with renowned pianists, including Jean Marc Luisada, Orazio Maione, Dmitri Alexeev, Pavel Gililov, Bruno Canino, Lylia Zilberstein, Giuseppe Andaloro, Orazio Sciortino, Enrico Pace, and Claudio Martínez Mehner.

In 2016, during the 6th Piano Festival of the Cagliari Conservatory, he performed Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor, K. 466, with the “Palestrina” Orchestra.

Selected as one of the 12 finalists of the 2019 Premio Venezia, he also won first prize at the 7th “Città di Spoleto” Competition (Category G) and second prize at the 6th edition of the “Premio Giangrandi-Eggamn” in Cagliari in the same year.

In April 2020, he was among the winners of the #contestAFR and performed in September for the Accademia Filarmonica Romana at Sala Casella, as part of the “I giardini della Filarmonica AfteR” concert series.

In May 2021, he won the first absolute prize at the “Ugo Amendola” Competition, and in 2022, he was awarded second prize at the Orbetello International Piano Competition.

He performs regularly as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles for various festivals and concert series.
