Romolo Ludovico Lanza

Romolo Ludovico Lanza was born in Taranto, the city of two seas, on December 17, 1998. He began studying piano at a young age at the Accademia Musicale Mediterranea under the guidance of his father, Cosimo Damiano Lanza. In 2017, he was admitted to the piano class of Alberto Miodini at the Conservatorio “A. Boito” in Parma, where he graduated with top marks under the guidance of Alberto Miodini and Mariangela Vacatello, while also working extensively in chamber music with Pierpaolo Maurizzi in various ensembles. He continued his studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt am Main, supported by a scholarship, in the class of Oliver Kern, and at the Norwegian Academy of Music with Christopher Park, where he got a Master’s in Performance. Among many appearances, he has had the opportunity to perform in venues such as Harpa in Reykjavík, Lindeman Hall in Oslo, Bij Andreas in Naarden, the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt, Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, the University of Agder, Sala Verdi in Parma, Casa della Musica in Parma, Auditorium del Carmine in Parma, the Accademia di Pinerolo, and the Accademia di Romania in Rome.
In 2024, he completed a concert tour in Southern Italy, in collaboration with the Norwegian Academy of Music and with the support of Tom Wilhelmsen’s Foundation.

His work as an organizer led him, between 2019 and 2021, to create a concert season within the Conservatorio of Parma, Les Concerts du Cloître, and since 2024, the masterclass and concert series Vie Nuove (in collaboration with the Accademia Musicale Mediterranea and the International Music Competition for Youth – Dinu Lipatti in Rome). He is the founder and Artistic Director of the Mediterraneo International Chamber Music Festival.

He has worked for the TUP (Talent Program) at the Norwegian Academy of Music, teaching young students from all over the country. He is currently one of the piano faculty members at the Oslo International Piano Academy and serves as Artistic Director of the Accademia Musicale Mediterranea.
